RingJini launches an AI call agent so people in India can stop answering unknown numbers without missing the calls that matter

The app answers unknown callers in English, Hindi and Hinglish, follows rules people write in their own words, and rings only for the calls they want. A Work plan answers new customers and saves leads for people who run their business on a personal number.

India, launch day · RingJini today launched its AI call agent on Android, with iPhone to follow, for Airtel, Jio and Vi users. When an unknown number calls, RingJini answers, asks who is calling and why, and checks the call against rules its user wrote in plain words, such as “put recruiters through for roles I applied to” or “never ring me for loans”. Calls that fit ring through, with who and why on screen. RingJini finishes the rest itself: it declines sales calls and asks to be removed from the list, takes messages, passes a standing instruction to couriers, and puts emergencies through at once.

Unwanted calls are a daily tax in India. In a 2024 LocalCircles survey, 95% of mobile users said they get unwanted calls every day and 77% get three or more. Even 96% of people on the Do Not Disturb list still get them, mostly from lenders, card sellers and real estate. The people hit hardest can't simply silence unknown numbers: a job seeker waiting on a recruiter, anyone expecting their bank or a courier, and the freelancers, brokers, tutors and clinic owners whose customers call their personal phone.

Built-in call screening asks every caller the same question and then hands the decision back to the person holding the phone, who still has to stop, read and choose.

“Screening was never the hard part. Deciding is. People told us they didn't want another transcript to read. They wanted something that knows they're job hunting, or buying a car, or waiting on a parcel, and acts on it. RingJini only rings you when it should, and when it isn't sure, it rings.” Sukul Bagai, founder of RingJini

Setup takes a few minutes. On Android, RingJini becomes the phone's call screening app and the network forwards unknown calls to it. Saved contacts ring as normal, and service calls from banks and insurers on 1600 numbers come straight through. Every other unknown caller talks to RingJini, which introduces itself as an AI assistant and says the call is transcribed. Users read the transcript as it happens and a summary after, see the outcome and the reason on every call, and can say “should have rung” to correct it.

For people who run their business on a personal number, the Work plan turns RingJini into a front desk. It answers questions from a short business profile, such as hours, areas served and starting prices, then saves a lead with the caller's name, need, budget and area.

“Half my unknown calls were clients and half were loan offers, and I couldn't tell which until I picked up, usually on a site with a carpenter shouting. Now loan calls never reach me, and new clients arrive as a lead with their flat size and budget. I call them back between site visits.” Ritu, interior designer in Pune (illustrative customer)

RingJini is built to be trusted with calls. It never shares its user's details, OTPs or schedule. Transcripts stay in the user's history until they delete them. If anything fails, calls ring as normal, and one tap pauses screening.

RingJini is available on Google Play in India, with the App Store to follow. Plans are built on how many unknown calls RingJini handles each month; prices are announced at launch. RingJini speaks English, Hindi and Hinglish, with Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali and Kannada to follow.

Press kit

In one paragraph. RingJini is an AI call agent for India. When an unknown number calls, it answers in English, Hindi or Hinglish, finds out who is calling and why, and follows rules its user wrote in their own words: expected calls ring through with the reason on screen, sales calls are declined, couriers get a standing instruction, scams are ended with a warning, and emergencies ring at once. Contacts and calls from 1600 numbers are never screened. It is in beta on Android, with iPhone to follow.
